Today it seems that meditation is hailed as a panacea for all things, from stress and anxiety, to insomnia and chronic pain. It is painted as a simple thing to do - just sit and close your eyes. But for many of us, simply the idea of sitting doing nothing makes us break out into a cold sweat.
This two-hour workshop will take a look at the benefits, origins and the science behind meditation, common misconceptions, and will set about demystifying the practice to make it accessible and relevant for everyday life. There will be a number of short "sits" followed by sharing and discussion.
This workshop will take a relaxed and friendly approach, and there will be plenty of tea and cake to nurture the body as well as the mind!
Meditation is nothing to be scared of and is a wonderful adjunct to any self-care.
